Dreamstreet and Bo Bunny love

The Dreamstreet Birdie Bits paper has been taunting me ever since it was available in the store. The bright colors looked so fun and I loved the stitching in the background papers and thought it would go perfect with my new favorite tool, the Bazzill In Stitchz templates! I had these really cute pictures of my Suzi eating watermelon that matched the colors perfectly so viola! Oh, see those Prima Acrylic flowers? I used stickles on the underneith side and when they dried, used zip dry to attach. The glue doesn't show through because of the glitter. How cool is that?

Next I got to use the Bo Bunny Futbol papers to use with some soccer photos I had of my son. I also used Bo Bunny Elements Stamps with some white staz on ink then highlighted them with a White Signo pen. FOr the soccer border I used Queen & Co. soccer felt and then colored it with the signo pen as well.

For this one I I used my cricut with the sure-cuts-alot program to cut out part of the title using ACB Sketched Over Print in the Sunnyday Hand Font collection now available in the store. This is an ACBailey exclusive and these fonts are not available anywhere else!

Thanks for stopping by and it's not too late to join in our Summer Camp challenges! So come on by!

Treat yourself....

...I love Fall, and I love Back to School as it signals Fall is coming. But, it does tend to get stressful with all the shopping and preparing doesn't it?So,...I thought this CUTE little bobble may be just the pick-me-up we all will be needing in the next few weeks and it serves a great (back to school even) function- it can hold those papers and works of art in place on the FRIDGE! It is SO simple to make - I took two chipboard flowers, one was bigger than the other but it did not matter. I inked the edges, covered them in patterned paper (mine was from the MME Lush Bloom collection in Erica's store) and then placed a rhinestone int he center of the smaller (top) one for a bit of bling. I then diamond glazed the tops and let them sit to dry. When they were no longer tacky, I glued a small clothespin (got a whole bag for $2 at Wal-mart in the craft section) to the middle of the large covered chip flower and then glued the smaller covered chip flower on top of the clothespin. I attached a big BG magnet on the back and "tada" - a nice "back to school" gift for me!

Scenic Route Liberty Paper Set

Have you scrapped your 4th of July pictures yet? Well, if you haven't you need to check out this paper set by Scenic Route. They also have chipboard, cardstock stickers and buttons. Bold stars and stripes combined with vibrant reds, blues and a punch of golden yellow create the patriotic pallet of this line. Set includes 5 double sided papers and 1 scrap strip paper.

Here is my 4th of July layout...

And, these papers are versatile enough to be used for other layouts too. Here is one I did about my job, and the overload of work I have to do during tax season.

Let's take a little Detour

An October Afternoon Detour, that is. I absolutely LOVE this paper. So much variety, such happy colors and prints and it goes so well with so many things. I loved the pretty flowers, the cute little green apples, the stripes- love the stripes-and other fun patterns. Here are some quick cards I put together using the paper and a few miscellaneous trims. Thanks for looking!

you make me happy....

when skies are grey.  Yep, I'm talkin about My Sunshine from MME.  And this set definitely makes me happy! ;)  BEAUTIFUL color combo!  There's a kind of "robin's egg blue" color throughout this pack that is just awesome!... I'm totally lovin' it!  One of my current fav colors for sure!  My favorite sheet (just cause I always like picking one) is this beauty:

Loading image ...

whoa.. ok, that's a pretty big picture of it... but at least you get a good look at it! ;)  I pulled it from the net so that you could see the true color, since my photos of my layouts never seem to show exactly what the colors look like in real life.

So, as I started creating my layouts, and since I'm totally into using patterned paper for backgrounds lately, I just had to find the perfect subject to do a layout about and have this beautiful stuff show through as much as I could!  My daughter just finally (at 13 1/2 mos old) starting walking, so there I had it.. a "baby's first steps" page.  Perfect... I started creating.. and it came out like this:

she walks

And since this paper set seemed to scream "summer", the next two layouts I did of some backyard pics I took.

priceless

kink giggle

There is an "accessory sheet" in the paper pack that is full of great stuff!  Cardstock punch outs of journalling spots, tags, labels, scalloped borders... tons of cool embellies.. makes throwing together a layout quick and easy!

Click on the layouts to see a complete list of products used.

Hope everyone's having a good weekend.  Now, get outside, take some photos, then RUN to the store and pick up this paper set during the awesome Summer Sale next weekend!

I've Been Playing....

I really had so much fun with my hybrid layouts this month!! I had a ball putting this one together! I just sort of went with what I was feeling and tried not to overthink anything! That’s so unusual for me. The wings, heart with wings, and “love” words are all printed from the cd. The wings are white on the cd and I colored them with a marker but you could color them on your computer before you print them if you want. And then I added some yummy copper Stickles glitter to top them off. I love the way they turned out!! And that bubble wrap is the piece that I used to stamp on my other hybrid layout! (A little recycling…hehe!) That’s my messy, sporadic, but fun little hybrid layout.
I couldn't stop there...those Prima papers are so yummy!!! One more hybrid layout...I printed the circle word stamp (“just can’t get enough you”) from the cd and then adhered it to a piece of a box (a pop-tart box, actually…more recycling..hehe!) and cut that out for a little extra dimension. Then I put that on top of a cute little chipboard shape from Bo Bunny. So simple but it adds some nice dimension to the page. And the border strip was printed from the cd as well.

Now for some digital goodness...How could you go wrong with a category called “silly???” All of the elements for this page are from the “silly” folder/category on the Digital Scrapbook Memories "In the Mood" cd except for the doodley frame. It’s actually a border piece from the “festive” folder and I just duplicated it and resized it and made a frame out of it. I didn’t add any shadowing to it because I wanted it to look like it was drawn right on the paper. I reworked the title a little, too. It is one long sentence on the cd but I did a little editing and stacked it instead.

Okay...almost done...one more. I have to admit…I don’t usually say this but…I love this layout! I did some editing to Syd’s picture…I wanted a really high contrast kind of look. This was simple to do…I made a duplicate layer of my picture, turned that layer black and white and made the contrast levels very high (bright white highlights and very dark shadows), and then I made that black and white layer an overlay. I know it’s not a look that’s for everyone but I liked it. But here’s my favorite part…the circles and bubble wrap-type paint were from a patterned paper on the cd called “celebrate.” I just cleared out the parts I didn’t like and did a little cloning to add more of the blue dots (they were in a very perfect pattern and I wanted them to be more sporadic) and ta-da! It looks like I had an overlay and did some stamping/painting. And I adjusted the opacity of the journaling and some of the elements to soften them a bit and blend them into the background. I don’t really know why but this turned out to be one of my favorite layouts so far. So there they are...my projects for the month. I hope you found a little inspiration in there somewhere. :-) Sorry for the marathon post but I just felt like sharing today!! {hehe!!}

Thanks for stopping by!! Have a great day!!

August Summer Camp Sketch Challenge

Hi, ladies!! It's my turn to post a sketch for this month!! Yay! Know what I realized...my sketches look much better on paper than they do once I create them in Photoshop!! {hehe!!} Anyway, I kept my sketch nice and simple and I made it an 8x11 but feel free to make it 12x12 if you like. Here it is:

Feel free to mix it up and change it up...rotate it, use the blocks for photos or patterned paper or even embellishments...whatever you want. And as a little extra challenge...if you use a photo as the title for your layout, you get an extra 5 points!! Pictures like this...

could easily be used for a title on the layout. Have fun with it...check out road signs or shop signs or grab some chalk or paint and make your own!! Give it a try! :-) Hope you have fun with the challenge...and thanks for not laughing too hard at my little sketch!! ;-)

Thanks for stopping by!!

Quick and Easy Gift - Altered Tile

Next time your husband has to run to the home improvement store on a Sunday morning... watch his surprise at your eagerness to tag along so you can pick up a few things too! :) The tile aisle in most of these stores has a "decorative" section that is just full of items that could be used in your next project - or be altered!

The glass tile below cost around $1.50 each - that is affordable! Simply add a rub-on or two, some ribbon, and embellish however you'd like for a very quick and easy gift. I made this one below for my "home improvement" guy.

Supplies for this include:

All available in the store!

Tiles make great alternatives to cards, as the recipient will love to have something that they can display. Think thank you gifts, congratulations, even "awards"! :)

I hope you get some great ideas from this affordable and easy project - if you do we'd love to see yours in the AC Bailey Gallery!

Have a wonderful week ahead, and all the best.

August Design Team Challenge!

Wow - can you believe it's a new month already? I can't believe Summer has turned the corner and we're now going to be heading into Autumn before you know it.

I'm so excited that it's my turn to post a challenge for our members, as along with the end of the lazy days of Summer, it seems like there might be a case of the missing mo-jo's going around too. ;) There's nothing I like more than spreading inspiration, so this month's challenge will focus finding inspiration in your everyday surroundings. Oh trust me, it's there!

So this month I challenge you to locate an object in your home, wardrobe, yard, etc that you love to look at every day. What about it do you love? The colors? The design? The texture? Use that to inspire your next layout, and interpret it as loosely as you wish - the entire point is just to get that spark of inspiration that soon sets your creative mo-jo on fire! :)

More on the challenge plus an example using one of my favorite pieces of clothing can be found on the AC Bailey Community Message Boards by clicking this link.

And don't forget - along with a new month comes a new round of our ongoing Summer Camp challenge! There are so many prizes to be had it's ridiculous!

I hope you come and play with us and enjoy the rest of your Summer... and have a great weekend!

All the best ~
Jess
